#### 1. First-Time Setup

#### 1.1 What You See When You Open the Tool

Don't rush to start. Follow this order:

1. Click the **"help"** button in the top-left corner
   * This will guide you to this documentation
2. Then click **"More -> Beginner guidance"**
   * A simple demonstration will show you how the blue dot works and how to judge orientation
   * **Recommended for all first-time users** — watch the demo before training for beginner model.

> 💡 **Tip:** Many users skip the tutorial and panic when the blue dot disappears. This is a normal part of the training — the tutorial will explain why.

#### 1.2 How Do I Know If I Answered Correctly?

The game provides dual feedback:

**① Visual feedback (bottom-right corner)**

* Correct: a brief blue "✓ Correct" appears
* Wrong: a brief red "✗ Wrong" appears
* Timeout: an red"⏱ Timeout" appears
* The message auto-disappears after \~0.35 seconds

**② Sound feedback (toggleable)**

* Correct: a short "success" sound
* Wrong: a short "error" sound
* Default: sound is OFF (🔇)

**How to toggle sound:**

Click the volume icon in the top toolbar:

* 🔇 → click → 🔊 (sound on)
* 🔊 → click → 🔇 (sound off)

Sound state resets to mute each time you open the page.

### 2. The Three Training Modes

<figure><img src="/files/KyFGTz3y0VJf6sgnHVzc" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### 2.1 How to Switch Modes

1. Click **"Change Game Mode"**
2. Select **Beginner / Intermediate / Advanced**

> ⚠️ **Important reminder:** The three modes are not "difficulty levels" — they are different training angles. Don't chase "unlocking" the next mode. Choose what fits you.

#### 2.2 Beginner Mode: Blue Dot → Judge Direction

<figure><img src="/files/t5QbMdSM6Pzzk9KnoC7d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**For:** First-time users who need guidance.

**How it works:**

1. A blue dot appears, indicating which grid cell to focus on
2. Judge the stripe direction in that cell:
   * Top-left to bottom-right → press **Left**
   * Bottom-left to top-right → press **Right**
3. Desktop: use left/right arrow keys. Mobile: tap the large left/right buttons at the bottom

**Training focus:** Direction judgment + visual attention

> ⚠️ **Reminder:** Beginner mode can get extremely hard at later stages. Some users reach contrast as low as 0.35% (stripes nearly invisible). Don't feel "inferior" for staying in Beginner mode — what fits you is best.

#### 2.3 Intermediate Mode: Find the Odd Grid

<figure><img src="/files/W1WfWWO7e7XkAqtJVzxR" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**For:** Users familiar with basic operations who want to train angle discrimination without blue dot hints.

**How it works:**

1. For example : Nine grid cells appear. Eight have stripes at the same angle. One has a slightly different angle.
2. Tap the grid with the different angle.
3. Desktop and mobile: direct tap. Desktop also supports number keys.

**Training focus:** Angle discrimination + visual search

> 💡 **Tip:** Don't stare at one grid. Use peripheral vision to scan and compare all nine grids quickly.

#### 2.4 Advanced Mode: Find the Fainter Grid

<figure><img src="/files/LBdM6cOXN9y4yRw9SvIc" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**For:** Users who want to train low-contrast target detection — the core challenge in amblyopia training.

**How it works:**

1. Nine grid cells appear. Eight have the same contrast. One is slightly fainter (lower contrast).
2. First, find the fainter grid.
3. Then judge the stripe direction in that grid.

**Training focus:** Low-contrast target search + low-contrast direction judgment

> ⚠️ **Important reminder:** Advanced mode is extremely mentally taxing. Keep single sessions strictly within \~20 minutes. Going longer reduces efficiency and may cause frustration.

### 3. Settings Panel

<figure><img src="/files/BfSrkvBBFnVvspZsbxPp" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### 3.1 Timed answers— Increase Training Pace

**Problem:** My responses are too slow; I want to speed up.

**Solution:**

1. Open the **"More Settings"** panel
2. Enable **"Timed answers"**
3. The system will require answers within a set time limit

**Best for:** Users familiar with the tool who want higher intensity.

***

#### 3.2 Animated Patches — Add Variety

**Problem:** Training feels monotonous.

**Solution:**

1. Open the **"More Settings"** panel
2. Enable **"Animated Patches"**
3. Patches will exhibit subtle motion, adding diversity to training

**Best for:** Users who find training too repetitive.

***

#### 3.3 Lower Difficulty — When You're Stuck

**Problem:** Current contrast is too low. I'm getting consecutive answers wrong.

**Solution:**

* Click **"Lower Difficulty"**
* The system raises contrast, bringing you back to a range where you can answer stably

**When to use:**

* 5 consecutive wrong answers → contrast has fallen below your threshold
* Don't force it. Use this to return to a productive difficulty level.

> 💡 **Tip:** Lowering difficulty is not "losing." It's the scientifically correct way to train. Efficiency is highest at the right difficulty level.

***

#### 3.4 Reset Difficulty — Start Fresh

<figure><img src="/files/v4ecDYtI3OzpjQ9gNKhZ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Problem:** I want to restart from the beginning.

**Solution:**

* Click **"Reset Difficulty"**
* All parameters (contrast, angle difference, etc.) reset to default

**When to use:**

* Switching to a different mode and want a clean start
* Current parameters feel chaotic

***

#### 3.5 Challenge Mode (Pro)

**Problem:** I want to skip the warm-up and jump straight into low-contrast, high-difficulty training.

**Solution:**

* Requires Pro plan
* Open **"Challenge Mode"**
* Training starts directly from low-contrast levels

**Best for:** Experienced users who want to train in the core zone immediately.

***

#### 3.6 Export / Import Data (Pro)

**Problem:** I switched devices or browsers and lost my training history.

**Solution:**

* Requires Pro plan
* On old device: click **"Export Data"** to save training records
* On new device: click **"Import Data"** to restore

**Best for:** Pro users switching devices or browsers.

### 4. Training Reports

<figure><img src="/files/2RIjcyAHew0l0o5aYgF5" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### 4.1 How to View Today's Summary

**Problem:** I finished training and don't know how I did.

**Solution:**

1. After training, click the **"Report"** button in the top-right corner
2. Review session metrics
3. Reports are saved locally. (Note: this feature may be limited in some browsers. We recommend using a desktop browser or the in-app browser for best results.)

#### 4.2 Key Metrics Explained

> 💡 **Focus on "Lowest Contrast":** This is the most important progress indicator. A gradual decrease (e.g., 4% → 3% → 2% → 1% → 0.5%...) means your visual system is learning to process weaker signals.

#### 4.3 AI Deep Analysis (Pro)

<figure><img src="/files/qeX7dqWHcx917VEtjeay" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Problem:** I don't understand the data and don't know how to train next.

**Solution:**

* Requires Pro plan
* Click **"AI Deep Analysis"**
* The system analyzes:
  * Your stable point (parameters where you answer consistently correctly)
  * Your fluctuation point (parameters where performance is unstable)
  * Next training focus (whether to challenge harder parameters or consolidate current level)

**Best for:** Pro users who want data-driven training optimization.

> This feature may take a moment to generate because the backend performs deep analysis. Please be patient.

### 6. Quick Troubleshooting

| Question                                        | Answer                                                                                                                                                            |
| ----------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| The blue dot disappeared | Normal training mechanic. The dot flashes briefly and vanishes — remember the location, then judge direction. Watch the **More -> Beginner guidance** for a demo. |
| How do I judge left/right?                      | Top-left → bottom-right = **Left**. Bottom-left → top-right = **Right**.                                                                                          |
| I can't see clearly | (1) Click "Lower Difficulty" to raise contrast. (2) The system auto-raises contrast after consecutive wrong answers. |
| Why no left/right buttons in Intermediate mode? | Intermediate mode uses direct grid selection, not direction judgment. Tap the grid with the different angle. |
| Access expired | "Click 'Check Benefit Status' using your original contact info, or email us at **<gaborpatchpractice@outlook.com>** to renew your Pro status." |
| How many devices per membership? | Up to two devices can be active simultaneously. Use the same contact info or membership code on both. |

#### Device Policy Notes

* **Device limit:** Each membership supports up to two simultaneous devices.
* **Device recognition:** Frequent browser changes, cache clearing, or switching between app and browser may be recognized as a new device.
* **Exceeding the limit:** When more than two devices are logged in, the system prioritizes the current device and the most recently used device. Older devices may need to recover access.
* **Data variance:** Cross-device training data may vary slightly due to differences in screen size, brightness, viewing distance, and environment. AI analysis accounts for cross-device factors.
